What do I need to know before the procedure?
Semi-permanent makeup procedure normally requires multiple treatment sessions.
For best results, clients will be required to return for at least one retouch appointment.
This will take place 2-5 weeks after the initial procedure.
Those with oily skin may require an additional touch up.
Please be aware that color intensity will be significantly darker and sharper immediately and a few days after the initial procedure , but the color will reduce by 30-50%
You must be off Retin A and Renova 30 days prior to any procedures and off Accutane for one year.
You will need to refrain from the use of alcohol, caffeine, aspirin, aspirin-containing medications, ibuprofen, or any blood thinners for 24 hours before any procedure.
Check with your physician if you are taking any prescription blood thinners.
(No medication should be discontinued without first consulting your physician).
Eyebrows:
Avoid tweezing, waxing, electrolysis, and coloring your brows for two weeks prior to the procedure if possible. This will allow your practitioner the most flexibility to achieve optimal results.
Eyeliner:
DO NOT WEAR CONTACT LENSES DURING OR IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE PROCEDURE.
Do not use growth stimulants such as Latisse®, RapidLash®, or RevitaLash® for at least one week prior to and one week after your eyeliner procedure.
If you have had an eye procedure and you are prone to eye infections, it is advisable that you purchase an antibiotic eye cream that contains Chloraphenical such as Optrex Eyes or Golden Eye. You can find these at any Chemist. They will prevent and treat any unwanted infections.
Lips:
The procedure does not cause cold sores, but if the virus is lying dormant in the skin it can irritate it and can cause an outburst.
As I am not a physician, I do not prescribe any medication prior to the procedure. Please see your doctor if you are sensitive to pain or have severe anxiety as they might be able to prescribe something that will help make the procedure more relaxing.
Before permanent make-up lips:
1.Prepare your lips before treatment if you ever had cold sores, also called fever blisters
Please consult with your physician to obtain the proper prescription medication to prevent such outbreaks.
Many physicians prescribe antiviral medicine like Valtrex or Zovirax, 12 capsules of 500 mg. These can be taken two times a day, three days before and three days after micropigmentation or as a physician prescribes.
2. It is important to care for moisturizing and smoothing lips. The cracked and cracked lips are less pigmented.
HEALING PROCESS
Immediately after the micropigmentation, the color is more intense, even with light pigment.
Three days after the procedure, the skin begins to discreetly peel off.
In 5-10 days, the color of the make-up fade to 50% of the starting color, which is a natural process of regeneration of the epidermis.
Approximately 2-3 weeks after the first visit, a correction is recommended to strengthen and consolidate the effects.
Every 1.5 years, it is recommended to correct the refreshing, possible color change and fix the ideal form.
By following the instructions, you will keep your makeup for many years in perfect condition.
Aftercare
Please follow these instructions for minimum 14 days after the procedure to improve and prolong the results of micropigmentation.
If you don’t follow these instructions, it can greatly affect your semi-permanent makeup results!
• Keep the area clean by washing with freshly washed hands and a mild soap. Do not use a washcloth or sponge to remove soap. Simply splash with water.
•Do not use cleansing creams, acne cleansers or astringents. Use a mild, natural soap or Micellar Cleansing Water.
• Apply the aftercare balm with freshly washed hands and a Q‐tip. If the balm is too stiff to use simply warm it up in a glass of warm water or on your finger. Use the balm very sparingly. Too little is better than too much. Blot off excess with a clean tissue. Never touch the procedure area without washing your hands immediately before.
• Do not scrub, rub or pick at the epithelial crust that forms. The flakes must fall off on their own or you will risk removing the color and possibly scarring.

WHAT'S NORMAL AFTER PMU
• Swelling, itching, scabbing, light bruising and dry tightness.
•Too dark and slightly uneven appearance. After 5-7 days the darkness will fade and once swelling dissipates unevenness usually disappears. If they are too dark or still a bit uneven after 4 weeks then we can make adjustments during the recommended touch up appointment.
• Color change or color loss. As the procedure area heals the color will lighten and sometimes seem to disappear. This can all be addressed during the touch up appointment and is why the touch up is necessary. The procedure area has to be completely healed before we can address any concerns. This takes at least 2 weeks.
• Needing a touch up months or years later. A touch up may be needed 1 to 3 years after the initial procedure depending on your skin, medications and sun exposure. We recommend a touch up 15-30 days after the first session and every few years to keep them looking fresh and beautiful.
WARNING
Failure to follow after care instructions may result in infections, pigment loss or discoloration!
